Deleting Facebook

Several weeks ago, I wrote a blog about how I was deactivating Facebook. What I learned from deactivation is that it is different from deletion. Facebook still finds numerous ways to stay present in your virtual life. From pop-up windows to activity on non-related websites, Facebook is a constant presence, and I’m done with it.

I’m done because I don’t want to be aware of all that feed all the time. I’m done because of people looking at their phones as they walk down the sidewalk, as they drive their cars, as they engage me in conversation. I’m done.

So I’m deleting Facebook. If you’re receiving this message through the Descent into Happiness Facebook page, know that this is the last post, because this is the end of that page (which is the only reason why I previous deactivated rather than deleting).

For those of you who I used to stay in contact with via social media, so long. I hope we stay in touch through other mediums.
