4 years ago, we had to shop for an affordable family car that was safe and got great gas mileage. Our Saturn was slowly dying, so I sold it to a graduate student for five hundred bucks. With cash in my pocket, I decided to put money down on a new car. I opted to only look for vehicles that had a 5 star crash safety rating and had amazing miles per gallon; as a result, we purchased a Mini Cooper. Did it matter that it was also a bit of a sports car? That didn’t bother me in the least; what mattered was its 41 mpg on the highway.
A couple of years ago, Evan got his drivers license. He reminds me that the Mini was originally designed to be a rally car. He reminds me of how I drove when I was seventeen years old.
Last night, Evan and his friend Sam went to the Brewers game. He said they had a good time. The mud on the front of the car verifies it.
